Edinburgh travel guide

In Edinburgh it rains ... (read more downstairs)
five times a day. Three of these are heavy rain showers, while the other two are of the "end of the world" type. In the mean time, it might be sunny for a while but a light rain shower is more probable... It's funny, coz' it ruins your golf plans and the only choice you got is to go for a coffee maybe at the "Elephant House" (the story about a famous young wizard was written at one of the tables of that cafe') and have an Irish coffee, which I don't really like, even though I love both its ingredients; whiskey, especially when it is from Islay, and coffee especially when it comes from ... Guatemala I guess.. However, the two of them combined together is really not my cup of tea (coffee or whiskey)...

Edinburgh is a magical place! It is surrounded and penetrated by this mystical, surreal and a bit creepy atmosphere as if the underground city which used to be inhabited by all the filth and scum of Scotland is still alive, slowly lurking its way out beneath your feet. It is beautiful.
