Hallelujah

Sometimes you really want to plan something carefully, with every little detail, so that when the moment comes it goes perfect. But when it does, it's all the things you didn't say the way you wanted and the ones you wished you d said and done that make it feel like a disaster. Still, what makes a difference in this badly rehearsed play is how you feel about it, about all the misheard and stuttered lines and stambled moves you made. The way that all these little tiny perfect imperfections make magic become real.

"And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
and love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah..."
